The exhibition ‘Motywy’ by Paweł Bownik at the 'Sny o Gdyni' festival.

Welcome to the temporary exhibition Motywy, presenting photographs by Paweł Bownik, on view from 13 June to 27 September as part of the Sny o Gdyni festival

Motywy
The temporary exhibition of photographs by Paweł Bownik, titled Motywy, is a series of abstract compositions built exclusively from forms and colors, inspired by the aesthetics of both historical and contemporary E. Wedel packaging. The photographs do not directly reference these designs, but instead engage in a dialogue with their visual language—its compositional rhythm and color palette.
The exhibition can be viewed in Gdynia
Sny o Gdyni is an inaugural contemporary art festival organized by the Przypływ Foundation to mark the city’s centenary. This free summer event runs from 13 June to 27 September. The exhibition Motywy can be viewed at 7 Portowa Street in Gdynia

A motif that continually recurs in my practice is the movement between abstraction and reality: first, an attempt to transform into visual form what initially existed only as an idea, and then the reversal of this process—a gradual withdrawal of reality toward abstraction,” says Paweł Bownik, the author of the photographs.
